Spot the ghost
Figures (and sometimes just faces) are often reported in photos when they were not seen at the time of exposure. Such figures are often assumed to be ghosts. However, humans have a habit of turning random shapes into human figures. Suggestive shapes can frequently appear at the 'edge of resolution', where their details are becoming pixelated. Many 'figures' and 'faces' are seen only in the details of a photo, at or even beyond the resolution limit.
As an experiment, here is a 'spot the ghost' photo. It is an ordinary shot of some heathland with a woodland edge nearby. In such a situation, there are many small trees and bushes which could give the impression of a human figure. So far as is known, there is no actual human (or ghost) in the photo. A shape, suggesting a human figure, has been deliberately inserted into the photo.
Your job is to see if you can spot it! Just move your mouse over the photo and click anywhere you think is the inserted figure. If you get it right, a link will be activated to another page. To some people the added 'figure' will stick out like a sore thumb. To others it might prove more elusive. It's just an experiment so there is no prize! See how many wrong answers you get before you find the right place.
And for those of you who found that too easy, try this one.
And another one with rather different scenery.
