Michael Bentine Award

Michael Bentine Award

The Michael Bentine Memorial Shield was inaugurated following his death in 1996. A renowned comedian, author, and television personality he served many years as ASSAP President, and the award in his name was given for a decade.

The Shield will be awarded, for the Best, Case Study by an ASSAP member submitted during the proceeding twelve months. Nominations award to articles published in the last journal or last two magazines, and to any other individual who you feel has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to ASSAP.

If you wish to nominate anyone, including yourself, email award@assap.ac.uk and include a brief reference as to why you are nominating the individual. Our groups officer will compile a concise list of up to six individuals with the most nominations. If no nominations our received, then the award will transfer until 2026. This is only open to current members of ASSAP.

We will randomly generate twenty membership numbers and email those people asking if they are willing to vote. If at least ten are, we will use all the volunteers. If we get less than ten to review the nominations and vote we will email another twenty members. Hopefully, this convoluted process will result in a genuinely democratic decision.

The winner of the award will have their name engraved on the shield and receive a book token.

Email award@assap.ac.uk with your nominations. Put "Bentine Award" in the subject.
