When I used to write the ASSAP blog, I often recorded my own strange experiences. Well, I had just such a strange experience recently and thought it worth sharing.

I was in a brightly lit room looking at nothing in particular – furniture in fact. Then I saw a shadow traverse the furniture I was looking at and disappear. The thing that came to mind was shadow ghost!
For a while I considered possible natural explanations, but none was obvious. It certainly wasn’t a peripheral vision experience.

Then I noticed something. There was a bright wall light behind me that is seldom used. If someone had walked in front of it, and behind me, I would not see. However, they would cast a shadow on the furniture in front of me. The moving shadow would vanish as it reached the edge of the furniture, exactly as I saw. And as the whole incident only lasted a second or so, there was no time for me to look to check if the shadow continued moving on the carpet nearby.
It turned out there was, indeed, someone walking behind me! What made the experience striking was that you don’t expect shadows like that in a brightly lit room. It certainly gave the impression of a ghostly figure.

One of the Publications Officers' roles, I am acutely aware of, more so in recent month's is ASSAP Archives of content, Posts, Blogs, Articles, Original Pieces and History, in digital as well as in print. What we do have, is not so well catalogued or broadly available -
This was the basis for the creation of the Members Resources and The Webinar Hub. Having the catalogues available of ASSAP News est 1981, ASSAP Magazine, Seriously Strange Magazine, Investigators Bulletins, Anomaly Journal and many more publications easily available. The creation of the NEW Research and Publications Home, for publishing journal entries, longer pieces that would exceed the magazine capacity, and papers, as well as the re-organisation of the Navigation and adjustment of certain types of content. I have short-mid range goal of gathering a team, who can reproduce the voluminous “Articles” of which there are more than 500 to the present website. Many were written by Maurice Townsend. Maurice wrote the ASSAP blog for several years, of which we do also have; the intention is to also bring those to life and make them available again. It's just a matter of time

Would you like to be part of this team?

At it's core. If you can copy, paste and add a photo - you are golden and update a spreadsheet to maintain a record of what has been added.

Drop publications@assap.ac.uk an email.
