Broad Haven Triangle Training Weekender: Mission Accomplished!
ASSAP Broad Haven Triangle Training Weekender – A Triumphant Success!
Deep in the heart of Wales’ legendary Broad Haven Triangle, ASSAP delivered one of our most memorable events ever!
Under the expert guidance of ASSAP Training Officer and Chair Steve Parsons, a fantastic group of members completed the combined AAI/ARI Practical Skills module in a truly immersive weekend of learning, investigating, and community spirit that perfectly embodied everything ASSAP stands for.
From the moment everyone arrived on Friday evening, the atmosphere was electric. Night-time Skywatches on the Pembrokeshire coast gave us crystal-clear views of the starry Welsh skies from the outdoor hot-tub too (and, for some, a few unexplained lights to ponder! Satellites and shooting stars). We engaged with a local guide in Tenby for spine-tingling ghost and historic walk through eerie and notable locations, with wonderful stories and cheeky anecdotes.

Saturday brought hands-on training sessions in the field, putting theory into practice in the very place that gave us the famous 1977 Broad Haven school UFO incident and countless other reports ever since. The practical assessments were supportive and, by all accounts, thoroughly enjoyable.

What is this? A mermaid, a fish or just pareidolia?
After a full morning and early afternoon of training, the group headed off to explore historic Pembroke Castle and the beautiful seaside town of Tenby – fudge and laughter, and new growing friendships against a backdrop of stunning coastal scenery. Exploring megalithic sites and cosy coves of skullduggery.

Evenings were spent socialising, swapping stories, debating cases late into the night, and celebrating the unique sense of camaraderie that only ASSAP events seem to create. Waited on by busy bee Events Officer Norie with fantastic food and many nibbles no less!
Some of the feedback comments
- “The roleplay scenario was brilliant”
- "This is what it's all about!
- “The location!”
A huge thank you to Steve Parsons for his outstanding tuition, to everyone who travelled from near and far to join us, and to the Broad Haven Triangle itself for living up to its mysterious reputation once again. For Kristian Lander, Dr Mike Benborough-Jackson, and Dr Paul Rogers for excellent, unique presentations. Understanding the State of UAP, The Lampeter's Spook and a curated dive into the Doddleston Messages / The Vertical Plane, revealing more layers to what is possibly one of the most perplexing cases. Followed by mind-bending experiences that challenged all who were present!

Congratulations to every participant who successfully completed their AAI/ARI Practical Skills module! Well done!
This is what ASSAP is all about: serious, best-in-class training delivered with warmth, friendship, and a shared passion for the anomalous – all in some of the most extraordinary locations the UK has to offer.
