Same ghost 8 years later?

Long-time readers of this blog may remember a train ghost (see here). Well, after all these years, it’s happened again and it could even be the same ghost! Maybe ...

My acquaintance (MA) who gets microsleep with MWR episodes (see here) was the witness in both cases. The latest event happened just days ago.  MA was on a train next to the window with the adjacent seat empty. The train was not very busy, which is why what happened next was surprising. Seemingly out of nowhere a middle-aged ‘large man’ sat in the seat adjacent to MA. Since the pandemic it has been noticeable on trains how people are reluctant to sit next to strangers unless a train is really crowded, which is why it surprised MA. Then something disturbing happened – the ‘large man’ vanished! One second there, the next not! So a ghost then!

The figure seen by MA was perfectly solid and normal, like the  vast majority of other ghost sightings. The man paid no attention to MA, unlike the previous train ghost. MA had no reason to think it was anything other than a real person until it vanished.

MA experienced the usual feeling of coming out of a MWR which is what this vivid sighting was. So, it was effectively a dream superimposed on the real surroundings. Could it possibly have been the same ‘portly middle-aged man’ as last time? Unfortunately, MA could not remember what the original ghost looked like! Interestingly, the two ghosts were seen on different railway lines but amazingly the sightings were only 2km apart.

How does the brain decide what a dream should contain? I don’t know but the answer to that question could explain many ghost sightings.
